At the summit held in September 2015, the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution A/RES/70/1 - Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The 2030 Agenda is a universal strategy and countries will mobilize all resources in order to achieve targets by 2030. The 2030 Agenda, and its 17 goals, include all three dimensions of sustainable development: economic growth, social inclusion and environmental protection. The Government of the Republic of Serbia has directly participated in development and writing of the Sustainable Development Agenda by involving citizens in the process through after 2015 Development Agenda consultations, and by direct participation of the state representatives in the global forums where Sustainable Development Goals were defined.
Inter-Ministerial Working Group for the Implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was established in December 2015, it was composed of high representatives of 27 line ministries and other organizations. The working group was chaired by the minister without portfolio in charge of Demography and Population Policy.
We present the second edition of the Road Map on Statistics for the Sustainable Development Goals in Serbian. The purpose of the Road Map is to provide national statistical systems (NSSs) and other stakeholders with guidance for measuring progress towards the goals and targets. This strengthens the reliability of the NSS data and supports efforts to achieve goals.
We hereby present the fifth, brief, informative and thematic publication from the series "Leave No One Behind". The publication has been created with the aim to show the situation with regard to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Republic of Serbia from the perspective of life and development of children.
The seventh successive Workshop on the data concerning Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), dedicated to strengthening the framework of data and indicators for monitoring and reporting on the dimension of urban development in the Agenda 2030, was held on 13 June 2023. The workshop was organized through cooperation between the UN Resident Coordinator Office in Serbia, the UN Habitat in Serbia (UN Program for Settlements) and the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia (SORS). The event took place in the SORS Conference room and it was attended by 16 participants from five national institutions and four participants from four international institutions.
